Residents of the unincorporated areas of Sacramento County are provided weekly garbage collection service. Please note that green waste and mixed recyclables are collected on alternating weeks.   Containers: Whether residents have an old-style green container with a red "GARBAGE" sticker on it or a new black one, they have a choice of a 30, 60, or 90-gallon garbage container. Residents can receive extra garbage containers for an additional charge of $6 per container per month for 30-gallon service, $12 per container per month for 60-gallon service, and $18 per container per month for the 90-gallon service. • Green waste and mixed recyclables are collected on an alternating week basis. Green waste is collected one week and mixed recyclables the next.  Used motor oil should only be placed out during mixed recycling pick-up days.
• Containers must be placed at the curbside no later than 6 a.m., on the scheduled collection day, holidays included
• Containers must be placed on the street (as shown below) so as to not block pedestrian use
• Containers must be placed a minimum of six feet away from cars and other stationary objects to avoid risk of property damage
• Containers must be removed from the curbside once they have been serviced and stored on the side or back of property
• If a container is full prior to the regular collection day, contact Customer Service and request an unscheduled service for an additional charge

Materials must fall freely from the container when dumped, so do not compact materials in the container. Containers may not be serviced if they are overfilled, are not accessible, or include inappropriate materials.
